Markets Price Eagles Defense to Stifle Dallas in Hurts-Free Week 7
Dallas is favored to win the NFC East rivalry clash, with models simulating a low total score due to Philadelphia's recent offensive struggles.

The National Football League's Week 7 slate concludes with a matchup between two divisional rivals that have both started the season 2-4. The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, entering the contest without their starting quarterback.
Jalen Hurts will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a blood clot in his calf. Tanner McKee stepped in at quarterback for the Eagles in their most recent game, throwing for 215 yards in a 25-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The change in personnel has not stabilized the offense, which has averaged 14.5 points over the team's last four games.
Philadelphia's offensive struggles are compounded by personnel changes on the ground. The Eagles rushed for only 35 yards in their latest defeat, a performance that reflects a unit weakened by injuries, retirements, and trades. Running back Saquon Barkley is expected to return from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for two games. His return would provide a needed boost, as Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley are currently on the injured reserve list.
The Dallas Cowboys enter the game with a defense that allows the third-most yards in the league, averaging 382.5 per game. Despite this defensive vulnerability, the Cowboys maintain a potent offense led by quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott ranks fourth in the NFL with 1,639 passing yards and 10 touchdown passes, though he has also thrown five interceptions. Two of those interceptions occurred in a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers last week.
The Cowboys' passing attack is supported by wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, who have combined for 81 receptions and 1,005 yards. Dallas averages more than 25 points per contest. The Eagles' defense has not fared much better, ranking 27th in the NFL while allowing 363.8 yards per game. The two teams allow just over 49 points per game combined.
Prediction markets on the Kalshi platform reflect the current state of both teams. Shares for the Cowboys to win are priced at $0.66, indicating a strong favorite. The SportsLine model simulations show Dallas winning in 62% of scenarios. Conversely, the model projects the teams to combine for fewer than 44.5 points in 54% of simulations, with that outcome priced at $0.51.
The pricing suggests a low-scoring affair despite the high-powered nature of the Dallas offense. This assessment aligns with the recent performance of the Eagles, who have failed to score effectively since opening the season with consecutive victories. The Eagles now face a Dallas team that has kept its offensive production consistent while relying on a defense that is struggling to contain opponents.
The game serves as a critical test for the Eagles' makeshift offensive line and the Cowboys' ability to exploit defensive gaps. The outcome will likely hinge on whether Philadelphia can generate enough points to keep pace with Dallas's high average, or if the Cowboys can capitalize on their superior passing game to extend their lead in the NFC East.
