Ukraine Confirms Full Satellite Speed Restoration
Military officials report stable connections above 400 km/h, ending a period of reduced bandwidth that affected drone operations.

Ukrainian satellite communications have returned to full operational capacity.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in a video address that restrictions on Starlink and Starshield were lifted by the morning of October 24. He described the recovery as critical for frontline logistics and for defending against jet-powered Shahed drones.
Zelenskyy noted that speeds began recovering overnight and reached necessary levels by morning. "Now we have the speed we need," he said, thanking those who assisted in restoring the systems.
Prior to the presidential announcement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that both satellite systems were operating at speeds above 400 km/h with stable connections. Earlier, defense forces and ministry experts had recorded speeds exceeding 161 km/h before the full restoration.
The recent disruption saw equipment limited to speeds between 130 and 161 km/h in several sectors along the contact line. Zelenskyy said this reduction interfered with logistics and limited the use of drones.
Political questions emerged regarding the cause of the slowdown. US President Donald Trump claimed on October 16 that the White House had not been involved in limiting the system. The Telegraph reported that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had approached Trump with the idea of restricting bandwidth for Ukrainian military use.
