Hundreds of costumed participants converged on 7th Avenue in Park Slope on Saturday night for the annual Children’s Halloween Parade. The event, organized by the Park Slope Civic Council, featured a specific theme called The Haunted Forest of Brooklyn. Marchers assembled near 7th Avenue and 14th Street before beginning their route at 6:30 p.m.

The parade began with a vintage orange and black Ford leading the group down 7th Avenue. The procession turned onto 3rd Street and continued to Old Stone House and Washington Park. The celebration moved into the park, where attendees listened to haunting music performed by the Brooklyn Conservatory.

The lineup of costumes included creative interpretations of local and pop culture figures. A pair of pigeons took flight while a family of scarecrows marched behind them. Other participants included a headless voter, a character dressed as Miss Piggy, and a look-alike of Mayor Zohran Mamdani wearing a Knicks jersey. Some marchers recreated Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, complete with tall grass props.

The event marks the latest iteration of a neighborhood tradition that has drawn locals for years. The civic council selected the woodland theme to give the festivities a spooky twist. The route through the neighborhood allowed residents to view the costumes up close before the group reached the park for the musical performance.
