Voters heading to the polls on Tuesday heard President Donald Trump’s final campaign message as he toured the restored Reflecting Pool on Monday. The visit marked the end of a 30 rally tour and came the day before Americans decide which party will control Congress.

Trump praised the Interior Department for finishing the repairs, which the agency completed after several months of work. He described the pool as more beautiful than it has ever been and noted that the project involved fixing damage he attributed to vandalism.

"The people from Interior have been incredible. And the pool is now better and more beautiful than it’s ever been before. And we’re very proud of it," the President said during the tour.

In his remarks to voters, Trump labeled the upcoming election the most important in his lifetime. He criticized the Democratic Party for fielding what he called the most extreme and dangerous slate of candidates in American history.

Polls indicate that the high cost of living is the top concern for voters this cycle. Trump did not address that specific issue during his stop at the Lincoln Memorial. Instead, he characterized the U.S. economy as strong and resilient.

Historical data shows that the party in power usually loses seats in midterm elections. Republicans currently hold a narrow majority and aim to keep that control. Final polling data suggests Democrats are positioned to make gains in the 2026 elections.
