Seahawks favored to beat Bears
SportsLine model projects a Seahawks victory over the Bears, citing Seattle's defensive dominance against Chicago's high-scoring offense.

A betting model simulating 10,000 scenarios per game projects the Seattle Seahawks will cover a three-point spread against the Chicago Bears in Monday Night Football. The analysis favors Seattle to win outright and cover the point spread, placing the odds at 61% for the Seahawks to succeed in the simulation.
The model has a record of 58 wins and 51 losses on top-rated picks dating back to 2024. Users who placed $100 on these selections would have earned more than $5,000 in profit since the model's inception. The current season enters Week 8 with these projections for the matchup between the defending Super Bowl champions and the Bears.
Todd Fuhrman, an expert with SportsLine, analyzes the running game dynamics for the pick. He notes that Kyle Monangai remains out for the Bears, but he does not expect D'Andre Swift to exploit that absence. Fuhrman argues that Swift lacks vision and that Seattle's defense limits explosive runs. He predicts Swift will need 15 or more carries to reach the under 60.5 rushing yards line, a volume he does not anticipate seeing against this front.
Micah Roberts, another SportsLine expert, focuses on the total points line, which is set at 46.5. He points out that the Bears possess the third-ranked offense and the top rushing attack in the league. Roberts argues that Chicago uses the run to set up the aerial attack of quarterback Caleb Williams. He states that defenses struggle to contain Williams, creating a difficult dilemma for Seattle.
The Seahawks defense ranks first in the NFL, allowing only 233 yards per game. They also allow the fewest total yards per game and rank third in scoring defense, giving up 17.9 points per contest. Despite this strength, Seattle has committed 13 turnovers this season. Only two other teams have more turnovers than the Seahawks, a factor Roberts believes will lead to a high-scoring shootout.
The Bears offense allows the most yards per play in the league, averaging 6.3 yards. In their last home game, the Seahawks held Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to 213 yards in a 20-3 victory. Seattle recorded 410 total yards in that contest. The team is 3-1 at home this season and finished 6-2 in the regular season at home last year, adding two postseason home wins.
Bettors can combine the Seahawks spread, the D'Andre Swift rushing yards under, and the over on total points into a same-game parlay. The combined odds for this three-leg wager are +360. This means a $100 risk could yield a $360 profit. The offer is available at BetMGM Sportsbook for new users who use the code CBSSPORTS, providing up to $1,500 in bonus bets if their qualifying wager loses.
