Milwaukee's bats broke Game 3 open early, and Robert Gasser handled the rest. The Brewers beat Tampa Bay 10-1 on Monday night, Oct. 26, to take a 3-0 World Series lead. Milwaukee can claim the franchise's first championship Tuesday night, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern on Fox, Fox Deportes and fubo.
The Rays reached this round by beating Cleveland 7-3 in ALCS Game 6 on Monday, Oct. 19, taking that series 4-2. Junior Caminero homered in the clincher. Tampa Bay's last World Series came in 2020, and its only other appearance was 2008, when it lost to Philadelphia. Milwaukee swept the Dodgers in the NLCS, winning Game 4 on Oct. 15 by a 6-4 score to take the set 4-0. The Brewers' last pennant came in 1982.
Neither club has won a title, so this series will produce a first-time champion. Milwaukee opened with a 3-2 win on Oct. 23 and followed with a 5-4 victory on Oct. 24.
Games 5, 6 and 7 are set for Oct. 28, Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, all at 8 p.m. Eastern, if needed. Games 4 and 5 are in Tampa Bay; Games 6 and 7 would be in Milwaukee.
The postseason path to this point ran through the wild card rounds starting Sept. 29. The White Sox swept Houston, the Yankees swept Boston, and San Diego swept the Cubs. Atlanta beat Philadelphia 6-2 in a deciding third game on Oct. 1. In the division series, Cleveland outlasted the White Sox 3-2, taking Game 5 on Oct. 10. The Dodgers eliminated Atlanta 3-1, the Rays swept the Yankees 3-0, and the Brewers beat San Diego 2-1.
Milwaukee then dispatched the Dodgers in four games, winning the NLCS opener 2-1 on Oct. 11 and closing it out four days later. Tampa Bay dropped the first game of the ALCS to Cleveland 7-3 on Oct. 11 before winning four straight, capped by the 7-3 result on Oct. 19.
Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern, with the Brewers holding a 3-0 series lead.
