Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Givatayim on Saturday night following a physical confrontation with the security detail of Naftali Bennett. The incident occurred while Bennett, the chairman of the B'Yachad party, spoke at a rally in Tel Aviv. The event demanded the creation of a commission of inquiry into the failures that contributed to the October 7 massacre.

Sources report the suspect was under the influence of alcohol when he attempted to breach the perimeter surrounding Bennett. He shouted the slogan 'Only Bibi' at the former prime minister and his staff, a phrase expressing support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Guards instructed him to step back, but he pushed toward the cluster of security personnel.

One guard pushed the man back to restore order, but the suspect did not retreat. Instead, he faced the officer and shoved him in return. The security team quickly subdued the man and held him at the scene until officers arrived. Police took the suspect to the station for questioning after the initial check found no prior criminal record.

Bennett served as Israel's prime minister from June 2021 to June 2022. Investigators are currently reviewing the specifics of the scuffle. The incident happened days before the 2026 Knesset elections, a period when IDF soldiers have already cast ballots at military polling stations earlier this week.
